Our Mission

Unifor Local 584 is an amalgamated union and the bargaining unit for the Ford Bramalea Distribution Center. Local 584 has been striving for fairness, equality and justice for Ford Bramalea workers since its inception in 1964. It also aims to assist the local community through yearly fundraising events. In 2019 Local 584 celebrated it's 75th anniversary. As of January 2021 there were 186 full-time members. On November 17, 2023 the Bramalea Plant was officially closed after almost 60 years of operation. Local 584 is presently at two locations in Ontario, Paris and Casselman where Ford has set up their warehouse parts operations.

Our History

Unifor Local 584 dates back to 1944 when the depot first opened in Toronto. In 1964 the Ford Motor Company decided to move the operation to Bramalea. Today Ford Bramalea distributes 50,000 unique auto parts to approximately 400 dealerships across Canada, either directly or through Leduc, Edmonton depot.
